More than 150 CEOs volunteered across Hillsborough County elementary schools for one day of change through #CEOsinSchools!
This year marked my fifth time participating, and I had the incredible privilege of spending the day at Lutz Elementary School K-8 with Principal Joshua Phillips. Principal Phillips and his team are truly outstanding—their dedication and school spirit create a refreshingly positive environment where students thrive. The administration and teachers provide not only top-tier education but also unwavering support, love, and patience in a remarkably well-organized setting.
One of the highlights of my visit was reading Smart Cookie to all four kindergarten classes. I also had a meaningful discussion with the school’s Student Counselor about how they address and support students dealing with depression, anxiety, and bullying. Later this school year, I look forward to returning to meet with the Young Entrepreneurs class, where students will have the opportunity to “pitch” me their business ideas—an experience I can’t wait to be part of!
I’m always amazed by the energy, dedication, and compassion required to build and sustain a top-rated school. Principal Phillips, his administration, and the entire teaching staff are truly exceptional—Lutz Elementary is one of the best schools I’ve had the privilege to visit. ❤️
